River House 2013

I need to go back and do Max's birthday but for now... we spent a rainy weekend at the River House in VA.  Despite the weather, we got outside a little and had a great visit with Uncle Ron, Aunt Anne, Ryan, Tracey, Scott, Michelle, Blake, Grayson and Barrick!

Looking at the boats and birds...

Lincoln Logs!

Barrick was an AWESOME playmate!!!

Playtime in the garage

He found a bike to ride too...

Good thing we brought specific play pants and shoes:)

Here comes fall...

We're having an odd fall but enjoying the nice weather when we get it.  Some days its really warm but I guess that's normal.  We had a beautiful day a few weeks ago and headed to Lancaster area to see some horse and buggies and went to a random petting zoo/candle store/ice cream place with a farmers stand across the street.  The kids enjoyed the animals and getting some early gourds.

And it's that time again!! Our first day of pre-school once again.  This year he goes Mon/Wed/Fri so we just have to adjust a little and get moving one more day than we have been.  He's going to the same school with the same teacher who we love.  This year they'll be learning letters and numbers and he's really enjoying it again.  The schedule is a little tougher, we're used to long weekends for one so he's missed a few Fridays, but the days he can go after being with me Thursdays he's not always thrilled about going to school Friday (when he went Thursday morning he hadn't been home with me during the day for 3 days so it wasn't too hard).  But we're adjusting and have just had such a crazy couple of weeks with traveling and kids have croup we hope to get back into the swing of things soon!

He was so excited for his new back pack!

Myrtle Beach 2013

Labor Day week brought another wonderful trip to Grandma Melody's!  As the kids get older, traveling gets a little easier and more fun.  It's just nice to see them being able to enjoy everything without having to be right on top of them.  We had perfect weather, lots of beach time, pool time and got out to visit Brookgreen Gardens, the boardwalk, Broadway at the beach and some parks.  We also got to visit Great Grandma Nancy who moved into her beach front condo for the week to give us a little more room.  She loved her fancy accommodations and we liked visiting to see the view from way up high, enjoy a yummy breakfast buffet and take a dip in some of the many pools, including hot tubs and lazy river.  It was an enjoyable visit for all and we look forward to next year; even though we'll have to go mid-summer since Max will be in school Labor Day week in 2014!!!

Max was so anxious about how many days we were there and had left I finally started a drawings so he could see all we did and how much time we had left.  I'll just pretend he drew the pictures:)

Our boy, normally scared of everything, loved the ocean and waves, even boogey boarded.  Love to see him enjoy it as much as his mom and dad do!

Aliyah spent a lot of time in her lake with Grandma Melody.

We're thankful for Grandma's great pool!

A surprise night (after dark) swim!

A bit out of order, but on the way home we made a stop at Aunt Ellie's.  Josh and Luke were away but we had a fun visit with Aunt Ellie and Emma before we got all the way home!

Max and I had an afternoon date, he got TWO hole in ones!!! What a blast!

One evening we headed to Broadway at the beach and they got to pick some rides to go on, they sure love rides!

I think they all enjoyed doing a lot of this over the week!

Nate and I had a fun and yummy date night at Broadway at the Beach one evening.

Afternoon viewing of Planes, it was a hit!
