Halloween weekend

What a weekend we had! Complete with a snow storm.

This first round is Thursday night, before I realized that they postponed our trick or treat. Nate made it up to Max by taking him to the store for kit kats, his new favorite!

Our very own Bob the Builder!

It was too cool and damp so we weren't going to take Aliyah out, this was a back up outfit we figured we'd put on for pictures.

Friday morning we had a Halloween party for Max and Ali's friends. I hate that we come up with cute costumes for an hour of trick or treat, and we didn't have a big party for Max this year so I thought we'd have a Halloween play date. There were 7 moms and 13 kids but everyone had fun and looked adorable!

Snack time...

Making pumpkin masks...

Friday afternoon Aunt Julie came for a visit. They had trick or treat at the mall so we took the kids. It was kind of crazy but the kids were good, just crowded which overwhelms Max a bit. He had fun going to the stores with Aunt Julie. It wasn't even worth getting Aliyah out of the stroller but she loves people watching so she was fine.

Then we got snow! Stuck inside, needed something to do. A real mom to be, cleaning while holding her baby!

We couldn't go out Saturday while it was snowing because it was too dangerous with the branches falling. Half the leaves are still on the trees. We did loose a big branch Nate had to drag off the road and chop up but luckily we didn't even loose power. So Sunday after his afternoon nap (Aliyah was still sleeping so she missed the fun) I had to take Max out. You can't pass up a chance to play in the first snow!

Snow and leaves, yes that is a rake sitting there and of course all the play stuff is still out since we were playing with it in just sweatshirts last week!

Perfect snow man snow.

He needed some hair....

Then we finally had real trick or treat on Halloween so back into costume!

Waiting for trick or treaters.

I just took Aliyah to a few close neighbors since it was cold and she's too heavy to carry around and she wouldn't want to be in and out of a stroller. So we came back after a few minutes to check out what she got.

Had to show mom-mom.

Daddy and Max after their journey around the block. His pumpkin was full. We have great neighbors who give cool stuff, not just candy but toys, crackers, squishy animals, toy watches, etc.... they made out!

Fall Fun

Saturday we finally got to the farm market to get pumpkins and play. We've gone the last two years and its such a great place. This was our first hay ride and Max loved it. The tractor pulling us had huge wheels and it was really muddy so he drove through mud and water which of course was the coolest thing ever!

The leaves are starting to come down, hours of fun at our house. Except Max lost his shoe in the pile and it took me about 5 minutes to find it! He calls loosing one shoe/slipper "having a flat tire"....

Some more outdoor fun. It was a holiday weekend and we were going to do a day trip but just needed a day to hang at home after all of Max's birthday celebration.
Helping me bake a cake for small group.... self declared "best stirrer in the whole wide world"!

Visits

Our old "Harrisburg" friends came back in to town so we had a mini small group reunion. The kids were so cute together and it was great to see our friends again!!

The next day we went to my Ursinus homecoming. Our good friend Heidi and family came down from Boston and while we did miss one of us 5 it was great to get everyone else together and meet some of the kids for the first time!

10 years and two babies each later, not too shabby:)

Max turns 3!!!

I can't believe my little baby boy turned THREE!!! We're so proud of the little boy he is becoming. We had a great birthday weekend for him too. Instead of having a party we invited our favorite cousins up to play. Saturday night we headed over to Monkey Joe's and much fun was had by ALL!!!

He wasn't scared at all and Emma and Luke were good at helping him up the steep slides!

And then they stayed over and got to celebrate the real birthday with us too. Couldn't even wait to get dressed for present opening! This was from peanut and he loved it.

He got some great stuff, an adorable book that Grandma reads to him, some puzzles, a movie, some nice shirts and a really cool new computer. He loves that he got emails from Aunt Ellie, Luke and Emma and it has all their names in it!

And a Thomas set with a mat and little trains (he has a Cars one too that he loves) We get these out while Ali is napping in the morning.

It was a beautiful weekend so we headed outside!

And some "happy" of course!

We had lots of left overs so mom-mom came for round too of yummy food, candles and happy and more gifts!

It was a great weekend.
