Easter Photo Shoot

I had to do a separate post for the best pics of the spring.  When we were down there Ellie did a photo shoot.  Of course the pictures are amazing!  I can't believe how big the kids are getting:(

Her moves...

She got cold and he was keeping her warm:)

Ugh, the faces...

Easter

Of course, the start of every Easter is dying eggs!

Good Friday we had an egg hunt with some friends at Taylor and Brynn's house.  It was a little chilly, but had a great time!

Strahan, Swanson, Miller & Kirkpatrick kids!

The Easter Bunny came!

The Easter bunny hides the eggs we dye.

Happy Easter!  This year the kids sang "Thine be the Glory" in church.  It was the toughest song they've done yet, but they did an awesome job.  They were some great lyrics to help the kids further "study" the Easter story so I'm glad they were able to learn them.  I'm so proud of them!

Since we had no plans for Easter day, my mom took us out to lunch after church and then after naps we had another egg hunt on the front porch:)

Saturday before Easter Uncle Jim and Aunt Brenda invited us up.  It was a nice day and we enjoyed a really nice visit.  Complete with another egg hunt and baseball practice!

Baseball and stuff...

Max was excited to be old enough to try T-Ball this spring.  This was opening day, pictures and his first game.  The whole team did really good considering most of them have never played before.  I really like the program.  The coaches are nice, informative but no pressure.  It's a great way to learn the game and have fun at the same time. And he looks so stinkin cute:)  Nate has also been helping to coach as obviously a team of 5-6 year olds need more than 2 "teachers" out there on the field!
Opening Ceremonies, they late because they had pictures right outside the field so they had to run in to get started.

 Max is #4

 Aliyah being a fashion model:)
I got some tickets from work to sit at a table for a formal charity auction/dinner.  It was really fun to get all dressed up, enjoy dinner with some work friends and even enjoy some dancing before we headed home.
I had some cleaning to do downstairs, I knew the quietness upstairs was good good to be true.  The kids LOVE to make "set-ups".  I don't quite get it because they don't really play with the set ups, the point is really the actual set up itself...

Most days she doesn't want anything in her hair,.  Other days, not so much...

This Thursday was "Bring your kids to work day".  I think Nate was more excited than Max was but once he got there, he really enjoyed putting together a new little Lego set and all the attention he got from everyone. He spent about 3 hours there and really had fun.  It made daddy very proud:)

We're really getting excited to move into the next season.  I've spent a lot of time figuring the clothing situation out since both the kids have shot up the last few weeks.  Aliyah is comfortably in a 4T, some pants even a 5T.  She also has a long torso, along with her long legs so dressing her gets difficult.  Every dress is way too short!  A lot of her pants are too short, but it's not worth buying pants now.  Max has moved out of toddler sizes and is more a 5/6 in boys.  I can't believe we're in the boys department.  Luckily he still gets a lot of hand me downs so we don't have to shop too much.  On lucky days we can still get a nap out of him, but a lot of time he spends 45-60 mins of relaxing time in his bed looking at books and teaching his stuffed animals songs and bible stories:).  Aliyah still enjoys her naps for sure.  Max is VERY into playing Mind Craft on his phone.  I have no idea how to play, but it's amazing what he can do.  They both get to play their phones for a little in the morning and he really enjoys the weekend mornings when Nate doesn't have to leave for work and can join him.  Aliyah has other odd tastes and will watch play-doh videos of people making things, or opening up Eater eggs with toy surprises inside.  I don't even know how she finds this stuff, but we do monitor of course.  They also get their phones (not really phones of course) for a few minutes before they go to sleep.  We read real books of course, but they like to do another one on their phones too.  They call it 'question', something Max started a while ago and I have no idea where the word came from.  They're really good at playing together, but Max is really bossy so it just depends on Aliyah's mood if she wants to just go along with it or fight about it.  The latter greatly upsets Max so it's a work in progress.:)  Otherwise we're just looking forward to consistent warm weather so we can really get outside and enjoy!

DC Cherry Blossoms

We missed it last year, but caught it on a perfect day this time.  The weather we beautiful, a lot of the trees were in bloom and we had a great day.  We started at the Museum of Natural History, got some ice cream, met Barbara and then headed over to the Jefferson, WWII and Lincoln Memorials before heading back to the parking garage in a Taxi!

Kids hanging out at the Lincoln Memorial.  The know old Abe from the Lego Movie so I figured they'd get a kick out of seeing the real deal:)

Max was obsessed with seeing ALL the dinosaurs and fossils!

They loved watching the scientists work on the bones too.
If you look closely you can see the monkey in the TV screen on the top left, they were being the monkey:)
