Happy Halloween

Aliyah is Anna from Frozen and Max was excited to wear a hand me down (from Luke!) Ninja costume.

We were happy to have our friends come with us this year!

Checking out their loot!

Apparently we carved too early this year, the mold had already taken them over!

Friday was the school Halloween Parade and class parties!

I am Aliyah's room mom so I was in her class but towards the end we packed up and headed upstairs to Max's class.   They were excited to see us.  His teacher is super sweet and ushered Aliyah right over to the carpet with Max to listen to the Halloween story his class mom was reading.  She was pretty excited to "hang with the first graders"!

Saturday we had a last minute bowling/costume birthday party for a boy in Aliyah's class.  It was a perfect Saturday afternoon adventure and the kids had fun despite Aliyah's cold.

Rivah House

We had a beautiful Fall weekend at the River House in VA!  It was a little later than we usually go down because Uncle Ron and Aunt Anne had a wonderful few weeks traveling out west.  We were very fortunate for still warm and great weather.  Scott and Michelle were busy with Family Weekend at UVA with Blake but were kind enough to come down Friday evening for dinner to see us and leave Barrick with us.  Of course the kids had a blast with her and she minded her "shadow Max" quite well!

She made her own arts and crafts project!

It didn't take long Saturday morning after we got up for this to happen:)

Some Friday night snuggles with Scott as he reads the book she wrote.

Max turns 7!

I can't believe my baby boy turned 7!  What an awesome, amazing kid he is.  He's super sensitive and has such a big heart.  He's learned how to mostly deal with his hunger/metabolism issue and has a very nice temperament to him that makes him so fun to be around.  We still deal with daily OCD quirks, but I know where he gets it from so we learn how to deal with it.  That smile can brighten up any room!

This is the day before his birthday.  He didn't have school on his birthday so he got to celebrate in his class a day early.  Then we went to the airport to excitedly pick up daddy who had been away for over a week for work and was getting home just in time for the birthday boy to celebrate!

We were very lucky this year to have Grandma Melody make a trip up to PA for his birthday weekend.  He chose Red Robin for his birthday dinner and was both a little embarrassed and flattered to have the wait staff sing to him:)
His favorite Fall thing to so is visit the Pumpkin Patch so I decided to have our first non-home birthday party with a few of his best buds at his favorite location.  They do a really cute job with parties.  There is a huge hay place place with slides, animals to feed, hayride to go on and of course gifts and cake.  It was a perfect day and I think everyone had a great time.

Max with his best buddy from baseball/school Jacob!

His theme was Mindcraft.  They don't make Mindcraft cakes so I had to get a green and black one and decorate it with stuff I bought online.  I think it turned out ok...
