Back to School

They haven't been in school since March 13th!!! Our district offered a few options for schooling this year.  One is a complete cyber academy, one is being in a classroom virtually but we opted to send the kids back in person, at least to start and see if we feel everyone is being safe.  They were sad to see the endless summer end but excited to be back in school too.  Max is in Middle School now!  Aliyah has a wonderful 5th grade teacher (and only 7 in her class so far in person) and had a great day as well.   The school seems to be doing a decent job keeping kids safe.
It's weird to have things getting back to normal.  I'm back to 4 days in the office, Aliyah has been rehearsing for OZ for weeks now and Max and I finally started soccer as well.  The break from life was nice but so is the hustle and bustle of it:)

If only she could take her along!

Labor Day Camping

We never realized when we bought the camper this spring that it would be our only source of travel and that we'd clock around 20 nights in it!  Nate did a great job maintaining it and we have really made it our home!  The bathroom and hot water have made it possible to be completely self contained and socially distanced!  We wrapped up the camping season with one more Labor Day weekend trip to Perry County.  The weather was absolutely beautiful and the area was gorgeous.  We loved the lake and trails.  Minnie did fairly well on her first camping outing (except scratching through her travel crate).  We had a great weekend of hiking, swimming, fishing, corn hole, crafting, mini-golf, playgrounds and doggy playing in the stream!

Welcome Minnie!

They broke me down!! I ran out of excuses, especially since Nate is home all day.  We pet sat a few weeks ago and it only solidified the need for a dog in the house. On August 21st we adopted Minnie.  She is a Dachshund / Retriever mix of some sort, around 10 months old. She couldn’t be more loved!
