Summer Fun part 2

We had a visit to Grandpa's this weekend. We headed in Friday afternoon, Nate took off work for some car stuff and with the temps at 100 we figured we'd give our window AC units a break and go to the central air and pool! Saturday we also enjoyed friend Noah's 3rd birthday pool party with lots of other kids. My mom and I also survived a Phillies game in the 100 degree heat. By the 4th inning our seats were in the shade (we stood in the back until then and there was actually a breeze) and it wasn't as bad as we thought. It was also a great game so that helped!

Nate took his car along, lots of room to ride and things to run into!
Nate taught him a new trick....I love how Nate is clapping.

Lots of fun pool time.

We just need to get Max swimming on his own (with a floatie of course).

Aliyah was going under the water with daddy! And Max was kinda starting to float on his own. We hope by vacation this weekend he'll be swimming a lot and really get it.

And to note because I realize its not something I'd take pictures of but want to remember some day but Max is potty trained! I won't say we don't have accidents but for the most part he's been doing it for weeks and doing a great job. We used m&m's, a sticker chart leading up to new "Cars" movie (which he didn't even make it through the whole thing but seemingly had fun if you ask him), and lots of matchbox/hot wheels cars (luckily they're only $1). I really felt like he was more ready this time so we just went for it (I wanted time to do one more try before he turned 3 if this didn't work too!) and it went much better than our first try in January. The first few days he'd only do it if he had no bottoms on at all which was good but kind of kept us housebound. Then we worked up to wearing underwear (Cars of course) and went from there. Now we're even able to take him out in underwear for shorter trips and he'll use public restrooms (or trees). We still do pull ups for naps, long car rides and then sleep diapers for bed but we're pleased with how its going. I'm SO happy not to be buying diapers for 2 anymore!
