Spring Happenings

While still a little cooler than I'd like, we've been enjoying some nice spring weekends.

Last week we had a family photo shoot, it was the best we've every had.  The kids did great and we even had 3 good family shots!

Nate went in to help his dad do some yard work so the kids and I had our own pizza party:)

Met a bunch of our best friends at a park to celebrate Gavin's birthday, what a blessing to have such a great group of friends to hang out with!

In April our little twins celebrated their first birthday party, complete with a carnival!  Kids had a blast doing tractor rides, games, bouncie, petting ponies, getting balloon animals and having their faces painted!  And what adorable little twins they are too.

We're taking a break from gymnastics so this was her last class for a while.  It really is a cute class and she enjoyed it.
This one they stand on one foot and say their name 3 times, Aliyah Aliyah Aliyah!

No more holding my hand!

Balancing the bean bag...

Another Saturday evening with our friends at CCA's nice new gym.

Helping daddy do some planting.

Max has really been enjoying his soccer too, he's gotten a lot better and we really like how they run the program/class.  They will both be starting together again in June!

This is "control".  She has them do it but then Max always holds it way longer then he'd have to but it's cute.

Last week we went in to visit Mom-Mom Paul, Dad and Julie.  It was another nice day so we broke outside, always good for a roll down a hill!

Can't believe she's celebrating her 80th birthday this week, I hope I age as well!

Family visit

In April Grandma Melody and Grandpa Jeff came up for a visit.  They spent a week at Ellie's so we took a 4 day weekend and headed down for some family fun.  We had a great visit, some nice weather and lots of fun things to do.

Friday the big kids had school but our family with Ellie and Grandma headed to the Air and Space Museum out by Dulles.  Our kids were too young to remember the last time they were there so they had a blast seeing the space shuttle and all the airplanes and aircraft!

They like watching the airplanes come in from the tower, only saw one but it is neat to be able to see so far in every direction.

On Saturday we headed to a farm which had so much to do!  There were huge slides, a big bouncie, hay rides, bon fires for smores, playground, animals to feed, some rides, picnic places and also had an Easter egg hunt going on.  It was a beautiful day for April and everyone had a really good time.

The most painful ride I ever went one, not only was it too small but the whole ride the cow jerked up and down, very happy to let Luke and Emma take them on the next round, I was in a bad position for a while!

Bubble time with Grandma!

Enjoyed lots of yummy meals!

Played dress up with Aunt Ellie:)

Soccer Shots

A few weeks ago Max started his first "sport".  We figured soccer would be a good thing for him to do at such a young age and were happy to have found a program that focuses more on learning how to play, rather then trying to make 3 & 4 year olds actually compete in games.  The coach is a pre-school teacher and it really good with the kids.  Max really enjoys it.  He has a little bit of a hard time not using his hands but he'll get used to it.

Unfortunately it was SO cold.  His first class actually got canceled because it started snowing.  This first week it wasn't snowing but it was COLD.  Aliyah and I waiting in the car most of the time.  The kids seemed to stay warm and have fun.

Happy Easter

It's another Easter.  The kids have been very excited.  There isn't too much to look forward to this time of year but they have been practicing their song to sing in "big church" and anxiously awaiting egg hunts and Easter baskets!

Have to start with coloring the eggs....

 Waiting patiently

Only half of them were cracked by this point!

Another cold day project, painting flower pots for Easter gifts.

Happy Easter!

A little bunny hid their eggs...

Ready for church
 Goofs

Then grandparents came with MORE baskets and goodies!

From mom-mom of course.

We had a nice dinner with mom-mom, Grandpa Ken, Grandma Diana, Uncle Jim, Aunt Brenda and cousin Brian.

The kids singing in church, they did a great job and learned "He Arose" so well.  I love how they can learn the meaning of Easter through song and help join the congregation in singing praises!
