Back to school...

No one wanted summer to end, but it had to!  First day of 5th and 4th grades.  Max was bummed that his best friend Dela isn't in his class for the first time in 4 years.  But he has a great teacher!  Aliyah was a bit nervous because her teacher came from the Middle School, but ended up really liking her anyway.  So, while they didn't want summer to end, they're both making out just fine so far!

The Saturday before school starts the district puts on a fun Back to School bash!  We had a beautiful day for it this year.

DC in August

I had promised the kids an overnight to DC this summer and we got it in at the last minute.  We had a wonderful day Thursday in they city doing Air and Space, Natural History and the castle.  We then headed to Miss Barbara's for fun times with the pups!  Friday dropped 20+ degrees and we had a blast at the zoo in the am.  We missed most of the rain until we were ready to go anyway.  Love traveling with these kiddos!
