April 17th- TGIF! This week started our official virtual learning. It was a rough start. We needed many different devices to complete the work, and a lot of patience. The teachers were amazing. I’ve texted, zoomed and even spoken with two to help get things cleared up. They check in on the kids are are very encouraging of their work, despite going through all the technical mess they’re trying to deal with. The morning class zooms are wonderful to bring the classes back together again. The rest of the day where my kids sit in their own rooms alone on computers learning is depressing. They so miss the connection of the school, friends, teachers, just the energy & connection. As someone who spends most of my non working hours there (could be anywhere from 3-15 a week) I miss it desperately. Fridays are catch up days so they were actually excited that meant going back to “mom school” for them
(at least we’re all working together for that). We’ll get through this, but we will be looking at the time we GET to spend at school a lot differently than the time we HAVE to spend at school from now on.

Their room set ups so they're less distracted:
The STEM project was for real this week! Making an arcade game...
